Do you believe in God? | Best Public Speaking Course in Bangalore India

Imagine going to a temple every week and sitting in front of the statue of God.

And every week you ask God for what you want.

“God, give me more power.”

“God, give me techniques to handle my kids better.”

“God, give me the career breakthrough.”

“God, give me more happiness.”

"God, give me more money.

"God, make me popular.

"God, can you ask my wife to listen to me?

"God, get me a new house.”

"God God God give me more.”

That’s how most people do.

Now just for a second imagine how God feels when you do this!!

Imagine how God may feel when you go to meet Him ONLY when you want to beg, I mean, ask for more & more.

You go ask for more. And when you get it, you ask for more.

Never grateful. Only demanding.

It's a constant cycle.

God still loves you. But God feels loved by those who go to Him who don’t go to only ask, but those who go to God to THANK.

"Thank you God for answering my prayer."

"Thank you God for keeping my kids safe."

"Thank you God for giving me this challenging project."

"Thank you God for taking away my current job because now I know my weak points."

"Thank you God for loving me for who I am."

Imagine how God may feel NOW!!!

Well, same with mentors.

I am not saying mentors are God. Nope!

They’re humans, just like you.

But imagine how a mentor may feel if you go to him/her only when you need something from him.

“Can you answer this question?”

“Can I get 15 minutes of time with you?”

“I am stuck in my speech. Can you help me?”

“I don’t know how to handle this situation with my wife. Can you suggest a few perspectives?”

“I am not able to create a breakthrough in my career. Can you help me?”

The mentor will probably help.

And then you leave the meeting saying: “Thanks.”

And you never show up until you need his help again?!!

How would the mentor feel?

Well, our current society is full with people who just NEED NEED & NEED.

Never grateful. Just demanding.

When was the last time you checked with your mentor asking how is his/her health?

When was the last time you checked with your mentor about how is the situation at home?

When was the last time you thanked for your mentor from the heart?

When was the last time you offered to take your mentor our for a lunch (NOT to ask more questions but to really get to know him & thank him?)

When was the last time you surprised your mentor with a gift?

When was the last time you told about your mentor to others?

Qualities like these are rare today. And that’s why most people have a lot of contacts on their phone & facebook but have no real connection.

Why?

Because they’re not thankful. They only remember people when they NEED something.

I am grateful that my parents & my mentors taught me the value of staying connected with people.

I may not always personally call. But if I get to know a client of mine is sick or lost someone, I have the manner to personally message or call. I have the manner to send personal birthday wishes to my private clients or even MASTERMIND members. My parents taught me that. Most peoples’ parents didn’t.

Phhhhewwww.

You decide what kind of life you want to live.

A life of connection.

Or a life of total disconnect & chaos.

Whatever choice you make….adjust your life accordingly.

I have to go now- I am about to send a personal email to my mentor Jason thanking him for helping me change my life.

And then I need a cup of tea. :)
